Working on the Tiran over the weekend got me thinking about how much work goes into getting these lumps of plastic/resin/aluminium from a naked ( spoohstick, he said naked...) to a finished state. Heres what I got tome with this one; Halfords gray primer VMA Red Brown primer/Basecoat LC RUST TONES (splattered) Masking fluid -multiple layers between the following; VMA Russian Green VMA IDF Saini Gray Home made SLA Blue Sponge chipping of all 3 Blue filter( for gray) Mapping LC Tensocrom Rust tone 1 & 2 LC liwuid pigments-Black green Ab502 OPR,- brown & yellow More Tensocrom Rust & Sand. More liquid pigs- Burnt umber, burnt olive green & colonial sand... ...and I'm still a long way from finished Seeing it written down makes me realise why it takes me so long to get across the line with things

Feck me, I have never even dreamed of writing down the whole procedure . Might have to do that myself and see how we compare .

It was all really just out of curiosity that I scribbled it down, and that was from memory....I think How some people have the finishing speed they do is beyond me!

I couldn't list my painting/weathering methods cos I'm so unmethodical at that stage of a build. I p**s around with it until suddenly it looks right,to me anyway😁. Happens every time so all this stuff about filters and shading and blending and more filters and more blending and shading just doesn't do it for me. I suppose it is the old thing,we do this for pleasure and beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if we are happy with the result, that's good! The time spent is worth it when you feel that buzz cos what you see makes you happy! It's pretty bad when it doesn't turn out right though!!!!😖 Bill

Come to think of it Bill I do the same . The paint stage is always a chore for me, and when things start looking right I tend to stop. If I don't I know it'll breasts up and I'll get annoyed .
