Like I posted in the IDF topic, I am entering a new kit in the halftrack group build. It is a German Mule, just to please all the German Vehicle Fans here : Based on this screenshot from a documentary about the si day war in 1967: I will make it an Egyptian mule, so should call it a camel I suppose... it will be an abandoned vehicle, so will see if I can get it to look a bit like this example (not a Mule but a abandoned truck): Thats why I asked RedZebra how he had made that broken glass

Love the damaged merc. Re damaged glass, if you want to do tiny broken bits of glass, Im sure Yenmodels does a small packet or glass shards for sprinkling on the ground etc

Thank you Boots, hope I will manage to make it look a bit like that wreck... Opening the box... first surprise... two sets of instructions.. Hmm, what's the difference... which one to use... in one the main chassis is nr33, in the other it is nr34... So, let's check the kit, see which number is correct, so I know which instructions are to be used.... parts are unnumbered

I think it is quite feasible that a German halftrack made it to Egypt. The Syrians had Panzer IV's and Jagdpanzers, so I say it could work.

Thanks Boots, and must say, this ancient kit is very nice to build, it is the first time I am building something and actually know what each part is.. makes a change!
@paul: that's what I thought as well, I read about the Syrians buying a bunch of weapons from France, inlcuding captured Panzers, and also got them through Spain and Tsjechoslowakia. To bad can't find anything about the Egyptians using those.. but do have a T34/85 waiting...

To show you the quality of this kit, look at the wood graining: There is a nice engin in it, and the front axle can be made steerable, it iremains moveable: The doors are slightly opened, they come already attached to the cabinside, the joint is thinner plastic that can be bend to have the doors opened or closed: I did something to the seat, saw this somewhere online, hope you like it: I Covered the seat with masking tape, and put some cotton underneath that, made a cut in the tape, pulled the cotton out...

Outstanding work on really good kit from back in the day . I still like the old Italeri kits, you can do so much with them as the quality was bloody excellent

Thanks Boots, I think this engine is a bit smaller than your famo though... It is acutally a pitty to turn this one into a wreck, is has such great fit, nice details, builds very fast.... and... you can build this into a driving model.. the wheels spin, the track-suspension works, front wheels spin and can be made steering.. But, I wanted to turn this into a wreck... so ... heatgun, trying to give it a flat tire, adjusting the front suspension so it is hanging down on that side.. bending the front fender, the door... and forgot the heat of the gun.. so the hood is more damaged than I wanted.. melted more than damaged..... Hope it will turn out OK, otherwise I might have to do another new thing... making smoke with cotton wool to hide the hood....

Thanks Steve, this kit is great! It's a bit funny plastic though, almost a bit like resin.
