Did I hear someone call my name here??
Nice one! Had been looking around but couldn't find them anywhere anymore, very interested in seeing you do this...
I have some other M48's and resin sets to turn them into Magach's..

Tommy, it is high time you did . Cheers mushty Bert, yes you heard your name . This was kit I received with a gold medal a few years ago, 2017 I think. Let's hope I can live up to your expectations of me . Here's the next 26 parts for the fenders . Dragon will have you chop up the kit fenders depending on the version you are making, thankfully they actually tell you which fender parts are for the Magach 1 or 2. In fact the instructions are bloody good in this respect, unlike earlier kits from them. Till here the fit is darned good. Maybe a tad tricky to put together, but with a little patience and a sanding stick, all goes well

That kit made me change my mind about the Dragon poo...

Pete, cheers mushty . Bert, Dragon make some awesome kits. In my opinion they have the best WWII German and Allied armour on the market, it's just the bloody instructions and weirdly placed casting knockout pins that get in the way

Paul, is that mantlet cover made of that funny soft rubberry plastic?

Thank you all for joining in chaps . Bert that is the stuff alright , it's in the bin as it useless. There are horrible seem lines which can't be cleaned up, also the attachment point on that piece on the left of the picture, makes a large scar which can't be repaired. I have decided to make a Mk.3 of mine, I just happened to have an RB Model 105mm laying around and the mantlet cover will be scratched

I think I had to trash it on the M48A3 I did.

Interesting that you guys trashed that soft plastic part for the M48/Magach. When I built my M48, I used it and had no trouble gluing it down. It held paint quite well and looked great once painted.
I don't know. I guess I'm just used to using what I have instead of getting aftermarket stuff. Maximum utilization of available resources and all that....

Well, that sure looks good... and I did use the rubbery stowage on the M3, no real problems either.

IDF and 105... two collections of letters than meant trouble to many a T-series tank!

Thank for the input chaps . I have decided to put the 105 away and bin the Magach III idea, after looking a reference images of the M3 I noticed that quite a bit more would need changing than just the barrel . So we continue with the Magach 2, the Dragon mantlet cover has been binned and a new one has been created . I needed a frame for the cover to sit on between mantlet and turret front. This was made from 0.9mm brass rod. The canvas is made from Tempo snot catchers (new ones, never used ones ), this is cut into into small pieces, dipped into a thinned down PVA glue/water mix and applied to the mantlet. For the canvas over the barrel, I need another frame. This time I used 0.5mm hexagonal styrene rod. Simple reason for this, it's easier to shape that brass. When this is fully dry, it'll get a light coat with Mr.Surfacer 1200 .
