Nice start on that camo. How many coats do you think it will take to cover with that brown

Not happy with the way the camo was progressing I decided to strip the model and start again. Just as well VMS clean slate does the business! Some delay now while I wait for more suitable paint to arrive.

Flawless job stripping the paint, Pete! Sorry you had an issue with the finish but I am sure you will get the camo sorted.

If you're not happy saves throwing it in the bin, that's the sort of thing I'd do

Model now back in primer and my paints have arrived. Giving this set from hataka a go as the colours look to be an excellent match. This time hopefully it will go much better!

Looking forward to a gorgeous paint job, Mr. Pete! This also has to be the most immaculate paint stripping job I have seen.

Excellent paint application, Pete! Hataka paints do lay down very well, once I figured out the right consistency. I have their South African Military set and they are nice paints.

Looks good again, Pete. I didn't know about Clean Slate until you used it on your M114. I got a bottle to remove paint from some Phantom bits I buggered up. It really is first class stuff! I put the jet nozzles in a small cap lid from a bottle so as not to waste it, and left them in soak for an hour. The paint was removed from all the engraved detail. Thanks for the tip.

Joe, don't waste any of that "clean slate", you can put what you have used through an old school coffee filter, and remove the removed paint that way. So basically the stuff is reusable
