Thank you Pete chap. I airbrushed on a thin coat of gloss clear to get the oil pinwash flow better. I used burnt umber and ultramarine blue. Before I move on with the oils this has to dry and then it will be coated with Testors Dullcote to enhance the grip of the oil pigments onto the surface.

Thank you friends! Today I fiddled on with the oils. I mixed vivid colours and I went for contrasts

Superb work Guy. I'm feeling very guilty now as the pilot is nearly always the first part to hit my spares box...

Wow, I never realised the cockpit floor of a Mustang was made out of wood, cool! And you got to love the fact that Uncle Tamiya includes pilote figures in their kits. A small tad of extra detailing and done! Lovely paintwork in progress on the fellow.

A small tad of extra detailing and done! Lovely paintwork in progress on the fellow. Yep----the P-51B, C, D (and the K too?) had a wooden floor whereas the early Ponies like the A-36 and P-51A had a metal floor which was actually the top of the wing. By directive, they were supposed so slap some kind of black anti-skid coating on those wood floors on those later Ponies but in wartime you know how that goes.

Priceless info on the P-51, thanks brotha.
