You don't see heli's being built all too often, and for sure not a Black Hawk. Good to see you build one chap. I loved watching the film in the cinema as a youngster with my dad. Looking forward to see how this one unveils.

Thanks, Wouterator! Another curveball regarding the interior; apparently the Mogadishu Hawks did not have the large ammo bin between the crew chief seats, for the Miniguns. Evidently they used the smaller ammo boxes so I got some of those from the Tamiya 1/35th stowage kit and I will be using those. I also found some stowage items from the spares box which I am going to prime and refinish for the interior.

Are the Ammo boxes PE? They look nice. The cola crates ditto, wow.

It's surprising sometimes what you discover during a build. Sometimes it can be frustrating but at other times it just enhances the build. Keep at it mate!

Thanks, gents! Guy, the ammo boxes are styrene. They are just molded in that beige/yellow plastic Tamiya uses. The soda boxes are Trumpeter and I believe those come with some of their Stryker kits. Pete, you are correct. I've found some great research material about the Somalia Blackhawks but the cabin details have really turned out to be drastically different than what Academy offers.

Nice bit of detail awareness Ian and the boxes do look really good. i`ve used those soda boxes before and have quite a few different ones, i think i bought a set of varous on E-bay............but then i do have a Stryker in the stash so i`m not sure if they was in there (it`s an age thing ).....they do come up good tho.

That's the way to use a spares box. Most stunning Ian!

Thanks, Guy! Yes, I sometimes wonder why I keep parts that may seem trivial but projects like this would be the reason.😂😂
