Would indeed be a shame to cover up that nice engine...

Here are two scenes from Lawrence of Arabia. Thanks for that! I think, from what i 've seen, that RR actually sent them with the brass parts shining. What i am going to do on the paint issue in the engine bay is still unknown....

Here i am again. The S/M armoured car, eeerrrr the RR that is, has progressed. Everything is assembled. Ready for primer now. Still trying to find info on some things. Hopefully a grey update tomorrow.

We have grey. Although it was thoroughly washed twice it still retained oil, so it didn't go exactly as planned but nothing serious. I will just let it rest a few days and then it is paint time.

Never had that mottled problem, I don’t think. What did you use?

Never had that mottled problem, I don’t think. What did you use? That can happen when the plastic has residue which has been absorbed. The primer will release the darned stuff and, it will evaporate over a few days.

They used way too much oil during casting to ensure they would be ejected due to bad plastic quality. In a few days it will sit and will be just fine. No matter how many times you wash these kits there will always be oil left. A friend says about these kits that they used recycled Soviet taperware .... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
