It's about six inches above a radiator so should be cooked pretty soon
Cheers Pete

It's not cooked yet but tomorrow I can get the suspension, radiator and engine all in up to the firewall, at last
All my undercoated bits are now gold
Just a few small bit to paint as I progress, done the steering wheel in oil so that has joined the firewall on the window sill

The vertical tank is a carbide generator called a Prestolite Tank for the headlights. Calcium carbide crystals are placed in the lower section and water from the upper section drips onto the crystals. The resulting chemical reaction produces acetylene gas. The gas is of course used by the headlights. The sludge must be cleaned out of the generator before the next use. It's very much like the miniature version that was used on miner's helmets.

Nothing is drying in my room, argggggggggggghhhhhhhhh Did you put the oils on a piece of card to dry them out before using? That’s a top tip when using oils Boots, works really well to wick the excess oil out. I know its a bit late now but Ive used VMS oil expert recently and it speeds the drying time up nicely.

I have recently discovered Abteilung 502 Fast drying thinner, works a treat on oils.

Tried my finishing compound on the under side at it is very good, gave a bit a light rub with 6000 grade to take the shine off then polished up with the compound and it brings a nice smooth shine up

The firewall is day four drying, and is almost ready, I want to get a Klear coat on it to shine it up a bit
Does anyone think thee black needs a clear coat to smooth it out more before polishing?

Boots I've got a few pipes need putting in the engine and of course you may of noticed the exhaust isn't fitted yet to the engine, but it has to dry solid first
