The gold coat looks much better Ian . From that what I can see, the wood effect has turned out very good

Yes Paul it looks much better doesn't, it needed two coats
The lamps and headlights will be interesting as I'll using black and gold but the gold wont hold on the black so I'll have to use a matt paint as an undercoat for the gold bits
Can't really see the wood effect from this photo but it actually looks pretty good, when it's dry it'll have a Klear coat, same for the steering wheel

Cheers Joe
I've got a dilemma now, I just stuck my big finger on the oil to see if it was dry and it was as wet as when I done it two days ago. I redone the oil paint but how do I get it to dry?

Cheers Joe I've got a dilemma now, I just stuck my big finger on thee oi to see if it was dry and it was as wet as when I done it two days ago. I redone the oil paint but how do I get it to dry? Ian, when I use oil paint and I want a short drying time, I never use thinner like white spirit, but pure paint. I brush it on and remove the excess to keep the layer super thin. I then put the painted part under a lemonade glass and let it dry on a radiator. To be sure do not touch it for at least two days. I also never recommend to slap oil paint directly onto an unprepared surface. A coat of enamels or acrylic mat is ideal as it gives the oils more grip. Hope this helps brotha.

Yup certainly does Guy.
I've got a nice warm window sill right above a radiator that will do the job nicely

I think it`s a case of just patience mate and let the `Mother nature` of the modelling world do her stuff......i use a 4 inch fan to speed dry acrylics and enamel based stuff but i wouldn`t risk anything like that on this fella, she`s gotta be shiny and ya don`t wanna risk blowing fine dust over any remaining wet areas of the oils at this stage, i`d just keep her warm etc.........looks very nice tho mate
