Right I'm not happy with the colour of the radiator, someone said add some gold to it to brighten it up but I can't get any at the shop Can I add a drop of white to it ?

No way Ian, don't add white to the colour!
Hasn't anyone in your club got some coloured paint?

Well done on getting the gloss.
Just beware of finger marks from now on. Just the grease from your fingers can end up with a sanding job.

Gold is a good substitute for brass

I keep a pair of soft white cotton gloves for handling once shiny.....get them on E Bay for about a quid
.......even so i`d avoid long periods of holding in the one place, on gloss coats and gloss varnishes/finishes etc heat from prolonged holding in your fingers can cause softening of the gloss layers in that area even through the gloves.........but it`s better than just holding/handling with your bare fingers........ask me how i know!!
As for the Brass.........i work the opposite, i put a copper layer on first over a black or white base of your choice depending on how light you want the copper colour......i then dry brush it back using Vallejo Brass, i use a flat brush and just cover all the edges/detail etc and eventually the brass becomes the dominant colour on all the raised surfaces.......this leaves a darker area in the centre parts of the rad, you can then tone it how you want and then gloss coat....i just hairy stick them with Future once i`m happy with the result. If it`s a brand new look you are after then maybe a gold is the route to go.....maybe even try a dry brush with the gold first......ok i`ll stop waffling now .
