Do Tamiya make a IDF colour straight out of the bottle or do you have to mix it up?
If they do what one is it?

They don't do one straight out the bottle but you could try these mixes, sand grey, 2 parts XF20 medium grey or XF24 dark grey and three parts XF57 buff Modern IDF olive drab, 4 parts XF57 buff 1 part XF62 olive drab i have used the sand grey on an old tamiya Merkava

I’d recommend Lifecolor. They do three different shades.

Lifecolor makes great shades as indicated above and AK also makes IDF shades that are designated by decade/era. Their tanks in the 80s had that grey tone which is almost close to RLM02 but from the 2000s forward they seem to have more of an OD shade.

Is it this one Ian? this is the only kit I can find from Meng with mine clearing gear. This is the back end of the 80's, so you are going to need IDF Sinai Grey 1982. Now the following dealers have this colour on the market: AK 791 (acrylic) AK Real Colors 092 (lacquer) Vallejo Model Air 71142(acrylic) Ammo of Mig 131 (acrylic) Mr Hobby/Mr Color 528 (lacquer) I also found this paint mix for Tamiya colours; Failing that you could use, as Ian said, RLM02. This is a little lighter than Sinai Grey '82, but with a wash it'll darken and fit the bill.

If you haven't got any Vallejo thinner and flow improver, you can thin the paint with alcohol based window cleaner . Have fun on your trip
