Thanks guys, still too kind of you. The canopy was masked and airbrushed. First coat Gloss Clear, second one the interior green and third coat silver. The rest is for tomorrow.

Nice work Guy, why gloss clear as the first coat? Is this more Airguy alchemy?

Pete, the Gloss Clear seals off the masking tape. Once it's on, a coloured coat can no longer get under the masking tape and ruin the masked part.

Question for the air force specialists : Who can tell me what these are ? They're supposed to be installed under the fuselage ? Can't find any info on them, they do look like gas bottles to me.

Canopy is finally airbrushed. I'll make a closed one, the transparent parts are clear and the interior can be seen without looking distorted. Do not mind the dust please

Guy, I believe those are JATO packs--Jet-Assisted-Takeoff. Basically like nitrous oxide boosters in hot rods. They were popular with jets in the 50s for short field takeoffs but were not fitted all the time. I think they were detachable and used as needed.

Thank you my friend, this is spot on the info I was seeking. It totally makes sense, and you're right, they were not always installed. Maybe they were common when Thunderstreaks were operating from aircraft carriers.
