.....oh my!!!, ya snuck this one in while i was replying to the last one ...........that looks even acerer mucker, quality work indeed The office was entirely blown out with my airbrush. Now ...about the dust, I've noticed that further rubbing the outside with a cloth, cotton swabs...seems to load the canopy staticly and pick up dust in the cockpit. Thanks brotha.

I know what you mean, cold sweat the moment before the glue is applied. A fingerprint or unexplainable ectoplasm-ish stuff are even worse than a dust particle.

Did you ever suck on a fuselage thru the tail wheel opening in an attempt to remove dust from its canopy? I did, and it didn't work.😂
*My better half was not at home at that moment.

Thanks my neighbour. Ian's answer on my question was perfect. It's called a JATO pack and I've found two stunning pics for reference purposes. Belgian F84F taking off at Florennes Airfield. A USAF F84F. The last part to add is now being coloured, at least now I know what I'm painting.😉 Thanks again Ian chap.

It's done chaps and I'm glad as it's typical that setbacks seem to happen right before the finish line. After airbrushing the black edge onto the rudder I removed the masking tape and despite the decal protecting coats of gloss clear the number decal partially came off. 💣😩⚡ So I had no option but to replicate the missing part freehand by brush. Once done that I still had to add and paint the opening/closing mechanism for the canopy. Perfect fit, glued in nicely but then...I airbrushed a coat of metal colour on and forgot to protect it with gloss clear, instead I began weathering with oils directly onto the paint. Nice, it came off. That means cleaning and re-doing the procedure, this time without problems. Luckily the four gas boosters went on well and were easily weathered. The blue base sets it off in a colourful way and I'll make pics later today.

Sounds like you had a close call, Guy, and a brush with the dreaded 99% Rule of Modeling. Looking forward to the finished build.

Ian, most of the time setbacks happen when a build is nearly done, it made me superstitious during the years... for example I never remove my glue jar from the hobbydesk until the build is 100% finished, if I do guarantee I knock off parts!💥😖
