Aren't Spitfires known for putting up a good fight?

Oh yes mate, this has been good up until the small gap but nonetheless a gap it is

That gap is annoying. I would fill it first with some Evergreen/Plastruct styrene strip, if you haven't got any then use stretched sprue. When you are sure the filling wedge fits okay then add glue. After that you may need a little putty to finish it off. You will also probably need to sand it down, do this very gently and wet. If you do it dry it will leave scratches on the surface, sand it wet and this danger is reduced to a minimum Beware not to use too thick a filling wedge, this could affect the angle of the wings.

I'll sort that gap as it really looks bigger in the photo than it is.
Been away for an Army reunion weekend but back now

OK fellas time to get cracking on the spit I've got to let that frame dry fully then paint it before adding it to the front end
