The Merlin is done all bar the pluming, might be easier to paint it then fit it other than fit it then paint it, I'll have to have a little think about that one It is also primed ready for satin black

It really is the best engine I’ve come across and the parts fit is amazing. I’ve decided if I get all that front end in I’ve then got a mamouth task masking it all up so I’ve decided I’m going to paint the plane then fit the front end

Thank you fellas, I'll see if I can get the cockpit masked up tomorrow then.
Someone told me to cover the gun parts with the proper covers then paint them and add decals but don't glue them in so you can just run a sharp blade around the decal and prise them off, simple

The engine is in Halfords satin black, got to wait for it to dry before I add the aluminium to it

OK bit of a problem, the satin has dried too quick in this heat and looks semi gloss in places and mat in other places.
Do I just try a satin varnish?

Ian don't panic yet. Try to find an area in the center of your house where the temperature is something like 20° C or a little less. Put the engine in there and wait until tomorrow. I think you'll find that the paint will cure fully and slower in there, and the glossy/matt parts should disappear. Failing that, I would strip the paint off and respray.

Your build looks great Robbo B) Paul's right it's the temp and high humidity causing that. If it's Halfords paint you might struggle to strip it. I found that out with my TIE fighter. A quick blast of Tamiya semi-gloss clear will fix it

That Merlin looks nice for sure. Give the paint some time to cure... If that doen't work a varnish should help, but let it cure first. When it is hot, sometimes paint forms a sort of crust? on the outside but inside isn't dry.
