As the title says. The other mosquito. Aka Focke Wulf Ta 154. An exceptional plane. Way too advanced in so many aspects. It also looked right! Thank god Goering wasn't too keen about a wooden plane at that time and the allies bombed a glue factory, so it was never mass produced. The kit is the Revell offering, that comes from a Monogram kit. Pro Modeller series i think. Now forget the box. The kit was given to me by a friend that tried to build it but said it was not worth it. So i got it in a bag with most parts already cut.... Till now i didn't have the slightest problem. Fit us good and detail is superb! Classic Monogram. The control panel is there just for the pic... Enlarge the pic to see the pedals. Amazing detail even for now, let alone a few decades ago.....
The only problem i can forsee is the fact that this is a tricycle plane. That means it is definitely a tail seater. The instructions call for 50 grams of weight in each engine nachelle. That is a lot of weight for the wings. We will see what needs to be done when i get there... For now this is the progress so far.

Excellent, John! As I recall, that is a very nice kit. Should do well in your very capable hands.

Thanks guys for dropping by. Managed to do some more work. The engine assemblies are glued to the wings. I added more weight than the instructions called for. Also added some weight in the nose. Cockpit plus a few more things are primered.

Excellent work! Yes, the center of gravity on this one is a nightmare so nice jib stuffing ballast into the airframe, wherever you can.

Finally managed to do some work on this one. The cockpit is ready. Seatbelts are from various leftovers from the spare box. Although it looks spacious, absolutely nothing will be visible at the end so i didn't really put any actual effort to it. 😁 The fuselage halves took some convincing in order for them to meet, but all is ok. Time for filling and sanding.

This one progressed. The good news are that the weight is definitely sufficient. The bad news are that, behind the cockpit, the fuselage keeps on splitting. I reinforced it and we are off to another filling and sanding session. The plastic there by now is very thin..... Hope this is the final session.
