Sorry for the long delay chaps. I glued the undercarriage bays into place on the lower wing. Then I glued the top wing sections into place. I removed the paint from the inside of the fuselge and cockpit as I wasn't happy with the colour. Also, the thickness of paint made a difference to the parts fitting together. Those parts are waiting to be giving a coat of primer. Hi Joe! I saw this Kotare Spitfire at the Lahti Model Show and was shocked by the price = 120 euros! So I asked the retailer and got the answer that the quality is really so high. Would you agree on that? Also he mentioned that painting the parts beforehand can lead to problems due to tight tolerances which seems to be your experience as well.
Anyhow, your build looks amazing! Can't wait to see the final result...

Many thanks, Paul, Guy, Ian, Bert, Tommy and, Karih. Tommy, why am not surprised you got the joke. Karih, yes, the price is about right. The kit in the UK cost around the £100 mark. I think the retailer is correct about the quality, and the tolerances. I painted the inside of the fuselage. That coat of paint made all the difference when I put the cockpit tub in place. I found even with that coat of paint, there was a gap in between the fuselage halves. I stripped the paint off, and started again. This time, I masked off the areas where the side walls of the cockpit tub make contact with the fuselage. I’ve applied the primer ready for the top coat.

Using the 1/48th scale coloured plans from the Tamiya Spitfire MK.1 kit, I marked out the camouflage. I took measurements from the plan, up scaled them to 1/32nd to get approximate start and finish points. I then put the Blu-Tack in place, and filled in the rest with Tamiya masking tape. I used Mig Ammo Dark Green over the brown. After masking the fuselage, I re-sprayed the interior with the mix recommended by Kotare for Supermarine interior green. Once I mask over the green, I can spray the silver sections. The yellow propeller tips were 3mm according to the instructions. I just used Tamiya 3mm tape to give me the size. Thanks for looking in.

Looks very good indeed matey. I'm still amazed that you paint in these large subassemblies. If that was me I'd have huge gaps to fill and repaint

Bert, Thank you. Sorry I had a senior moment.
Thank you Steve. It’s only the quality of the kits that lets me do it.
