Thanks Robbo, Tommy, and I got that stand after I saw it in one of Sniper's builds... Added some chipping, changed the color of the inside of the wheel bays.. and calling this one done.. Glad I added enough lead to the nose...
I think it is a nice result for such an old kit and my first plane after 50 years...

Ian, Boots, thanks a lot!
By the way, classic wings: only US fighter plane buildt from before participation of US in WW2 untill end of WW2.. more than 10.000 built.. longest fighter range attack shot down Yamamoto.. fastest plane on introduction..... used in both Pacific and European theatre.... first US kill agains both Japan as Germany (within a week in 1942).... more than 90% of European foto material in WW2 came from P38's .. destroyed more enemy aircraft in the Pacific than any other US plane, over 1.800... first US plane to land in Japan after it's surrender (26-08-1945).... it's tails inspired car producers Cadillac to produce those beautiful tail fins ...

Bert, it was a remarkable plane, indeed! As far as air-to-air kills in the Pacific, it was the top scoring Army Air Corps fighter with 1700-1800 kills. However, the overall top shooter in the Pacific was the F6F Hellcat with an incredible 5000 plus kills. I always thought it was interesting how the Hellcat really got overshadowed in the Pacific by the -38, -51 and the Corsair. This makes me want to build a P-38 and a Hellcat, now🤣🤣

Ian, thanks for the extra info, I missed the bit about Army Air corps fighter...
And I love the P38, but have more of those double tailed airplanes.. Vampire, Fokker G1.. love the shape of them..
