Well the 109 is drying off so I thought I would start something else ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) . Here's Takoms version of the Sturmhaubitze 42, Late. ![](https://i.ibb.co/TTDQHky/DSCN1307.jpg) ![](https://i.ibb.co/MBJ2X6d/DSCN1785.jpg) ![](https://i.ibb.co/1bgYYpQ/DSCN1786.jpg) There is unfortunately a fair bit of clean up to do, the tracks (link and length) have raised knock out marks and the running gear has flash which needs removing.

I had heard you had a couple of these in the stack.šš You have to love raised punch marks on the tracks but I am sure you will get it handled. Looking forward to this.

Paul, I will have to pop in & watch this build for sure as it is a Stug after all, they even beat a T55 in my world!! š¤š¤«š¤«
Now how would you rate from best to worst makers of Stugs??
I.e all mine are Dragon, but want a couple of late war & full interior types to go with my F&Gās
Keep up the inspiring work, now I will sticky beak your 109, and many thanks for those pictures too.
Cheers Mike

Paul,I'm sure you'll manage those issues with the tracks, Boots option was very clever as usual ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) and it's an option I would consider for some of my builds ! Let's wait and see what Mr.B will do here.

Guy, you are so right ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) . John, the tracks are not too much trouble to sort out. Just a tad annoying with this being a 2023 kit ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) . Mike I can say this much, the good old Tamiya StuG III still rates very high on my list. Specially if you wish to go for field mods and such. I haven't built a Miniart kit yet, but they look to be the best along with Dragon. The detail on both is amazing and very accurate. The Miniart kits have a big plus, you can get them with and without interiors. My rating would be like this: Detail and accuracy Dragon (F, F8, B, C, D, G) Miniart Easy build Tamiya (G and B) I know Bronco did a D or maybe an E version, can't remember which. But Bronco are worse to build than any others.

While the landing gear on the 109 is setting, I thought I would continue on the StuH ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) . It's starting to look like a StuH now, only problem I had was fitting the gun mount and the barrels are both crap. The Kasematt opening where the mount fits into, needed a good 1mm sanding away for everything to fit. The barrels, well we have 2023 and there is no need for this crap ![B-|](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/notamused.png) . The plastic part has rifling, but two nasty seams that need removing. Sanding is out of the question as I tried this, but the barrel diameter will be reduced too much. The metal one hasn't got rifling, so that is also destined for the bin. ![](https://i.ibb.co/z77dnxy/DSCN1794.jpg) ![](https://i.ibb.co/K0wMR0f/DSCN1795.jpg) Oh before anyone asks, the tracks have been labelled so that I don't forget where the front is and which side they go ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png)

We don't mind a bit of modelling skills but you expect better from a new design kit these days. I'm sure you kick it into shape though Paul, it looks great so far ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Fine progress on this Paul, and sorry you had an issue with the barrel. Nonetheless, the build is progressing with STuHilicious alacrity.
