Oh now blame me for something for a change . I think this is a better kit than I chose, and in your hands it will be awesome anyway

Thanks all Paul, so far it fits together so all good! Here's the office, only added Tamiya tape belts. Kit decal for the IP. When for the plastic ( not Bakelite as it was sometimes called) seat as it allows for a bit of colour in the tiny dark cockpit. Now seal it up and never see it again

With the Honda over the line I've turned back to this little kit. Airframe complete and camo on. All home mixed Tamiya colours. I'm not sure about the blue, it looks a bit strong to me but there are pictures of such a strong contrast so I'm chalking it up to experience and moving on. Some corrections and then the decals are next.

You can do lots of weathering to the blue and it will look more natural.

Thanks for the great comments chaps Managed to grab a few hours at the bench again. Carried out some post shading of the paint and bleaching of the decals to try and bring things together a bit. The plan was to add the remaining airframe bits and bobs before final weathering to get me to the finish line. BUT.... The sliding part of the canopy looks awful, way too thick and way too oversize. WHAT was Airfix thinking? A nice little kit with some great features then this mess. I knew it was bad from my inbox review that I posted here was while back but it's worse than even I feared. My original idea was to use a spare from Eduard but it won't fit at all. So my only option was to order a vacform replacement, so until that arrives I'm stuck. Back to here until then.
