Thinking about trying out some of Tamiya's lacquer. What can you Gents tell me about it? Thinners,reduction,spray-ability? Thanks.

I can tell you absolutely nuttin' Jeff , although that isn't quite true. Apparently, their Lacquer thinner works wonders with the old school XF and X paint range. I'll also be watching the replies, as this would be good know

I have ealso come across posts that claim you can use the Lacquer thinner as Tamiya extra thin glue... haven't tried that yet..
EDIT Forget that, that was their airbrush cleaner...

I also clean my airbrush with lacquer thinner, works perfect. It stinks, a mask is strongly recommended. When I see a fly in the hobbyroom during sprayworks it's laying dead on the floor by the time I'm done, says enough.

I clean my AB the same way. And I know what you mean 'bout the fly.😄

You gents are correct in that it works great in the old XF & X range, and another use besides the cleaning of the air brush already mentioned previously it is great for stripping a paint scheme of anything.
I use the yellow cap one for all of the above. Cheers Mike

OK,I've been using the the new Tamiya lacquer on the M10-70.
Positives
Sprays very well when thinned with Tamiya lacquer thinner or Mr.Color Leveling Thinner.
Covers pretty well.
Dries quickly to a smooth satin. .
Very tough. Does not scratch or peel with in reason.
Very thin film build.
Same price as the acrylics.
Negatives
Only available in the Mini size Jar. .33oz
Does not brush that well. Might be me.
No way to tell if it's a gloss or a flat color. Like Tamiya's acrylic line, X or XF.
All in all, it works well. Will I be changing over ? Probably not at this time.
