Thanks all! The prop tips were completed with yellow and the spinner will be finished with the Belgian flag decal.

Guys, guys, guys, you are too kind for the fruits of my effort, but I'm over the moon now as I'm practically never satisfied with the results.
For example, the canopy looks far too clean. I'm sure they were cleaned often because a clean canopy was a matter of life or death, but I can't imagine they were showroomshine polished like us modellers intend to do with our models.
What are your thoughts on this chaps?

Thats one of the reasons I dont polish them. Another thing is exact colour number matching with the orignal thing, I mean depending on wear and tear, weather conditions, time passed since the paint job, colours will vary enormously, tank/airplane/clothing/anything... there is no such thing as the exact colour to use... unless you make a showroom model, and then the polishing of canopies peeps around the corner again.. Think back to your pictures of those guys using mops to paint those black/white stripes, and us using masking tape that needs an exact with and distance... There are also pictures of applying paint, camouflage, on tanks etc, with big brushes... and we are conserned about a little bit of a patchy paint job ...

Pure black on a model to give another example isn't the best way to go I think, I often prefer a dark grey instead. Pure black can be too much in the face on a scale model. I've toned down my black invasion stripes during the weathering stage and it looks much more realistic to me now.

What are your thoughts on this chaps? I think canopy glass wear would really be hard to simulate. Bug splatter and fluid leaks would be hard to replicate on a 48th scale canopy. I will usually dip them in Pledge if there was a seam-line I had to remove with a Three-Way stick or any manufacturer defects that had to be buffed out. Other than that, I will usually just leave as-is. Also, if there is any chance of the canopy frosting due to CA residue (mostly on closed canopy builds where the fumes build up inside), I will dip in Pledge because CA fog can't grab on to Future/Pledge.

Thanks Ian. I'm not going to take the risk of ruining my Tempest due to microscopic bug splatterings. I went for Microscale Cristal Clear, the last thing I want is such a white mist in the canopy. The use of Pledge is a great tip to encounter the frost!

Yep---I use Micro "Kristal Klear" as my canopy adhesive as well. Great stuff!
