"Late production"? How would they know what late production meant on a vehicle that never got built? Man, I wish the effort to do these fantasy tanks was applied to real vehicles that are so neglected by model companies. This is 1/35th scale, so it doesn't really apply or matter to me, but still....
I'll go back to my workbench now...

But I agree with you Duke... it was never built.
I don't know about all the E-Tank versions, but I think some were actually planned to standardize production,.. you are spot on again... all these efforts when there are a great number of neglected vehicles in plastic, like all the M113 versions... anyway, it's still a cool tank. Also the War video games saw a lot of interest on various types of tanks.

A lot of the idea behind the E-tanks was to provide a more consolidated number of tanks, simplification of manufacture and more commonality across platforms. As for the second point, there’s obviously a market for them and I think it’s good that vendors cater to a spectrum of modellers all the way from on a napkin, to prototypes, a brief stop at what-ifs and then historical. The one thing that does surprise me slightly is that none of these companies has been sued by World of Tanks.
