That taping method will fix it . I have copied your method before and it works a treat, without destroying the surrounding structure It works great most of the time, on these kits it's a little tricky but this AK water soluble Putty, with a little Q-tip soaked in water, cleaning up is very easy.

Small update today,
Dragon M50, worked on the turret.
KV-1, Red primer on the hull and Dark Yellow on the turret.
KP Su-7 BM CZ - worked on masking a few spots that needed more work.
KP Su-7 BM WP - Also worked on getting masked and putty near the tail, and some missing spots on the rear ailerons.
These 2 kits are the same, but the Warsaw Pact version, I think I will go for the Polish version, has the Eduard seat, also it has most of the fuselage details on, still needs some PE parts too. The Czech version has 3 or 4 markings that I didn't decide yet which one to pick. Another thing I noticed too, there is a weapons / fuel tanks drawing with the ordnance schematic to pick, but... there is one schematic that has 4 fuel tanks, but they only have 2 in the kit box. But I'm still a long way before starting to think about weapons & fuel tanks here...
The BML and BKL versions are currently on hold since I'm trying to get some 3D decal for the cockpit & seatbelts.
If by any chance you get a Su-7 1:48th scale, the seat and the metal set pitot/cannons are a must have, it will really improve your Cold War bird.
Well that's it for today.

I like the texture of the M50 turret, spot on! Thank Guy, but this time it's Dragon that needs the compliment , I only added more liquid cement and some light sanding, most of the job was done by Dragon.

Nice work, John! Love the lines on the SU-7, especially. Thanks Ian !!
Despite the Putty Party , there aren't many options for a decent Su-7 at this scale, even the Eduard Limited Edition from a few years ago, it's the same plastic, same sprues. I think Kopro, Revell and Mistercraft are all the same as these, based on the old OEZ 1989 kit.
I really like the shape of this Cold War fighter turned into ground attack striker, it's quite big , side by side with my Mig-15... it's huge. I'm really looking forward to see all 4 versions finished side by side. Su-7 BM Czech, Su-7 BM Polish, Su-7 BMK ( Indian or Afeghan ) and Su-7 BKL Soviet

Here's another small update,
Dragon M50, added more details on the turret and hull too.
KV-1, I started the camo stripes on the turret ( only the brown ) and Washed the wheels.
KP Su-7 BM Czech version, took the tape off, still needs some cleaning up, also cleaned up the rear ailerons. Glue & Putty will be next.
Bronco GAZ 69M, still working on the front bits, this kit is very, very detailed everywhere, the only issue so far were the damn decals, but if you want a little wheeled vehicle from the Cold War and beyond ... with detailed interior, engine,suspension,chassis.... this is it.
Dragon Panzer I, painting the Rubber Black wheels.
And finally Takom ZSU-57-2, working on step 24,
And that's it for today !!!
