So after the kit decals misbehaved I ordered some Kits World replacements. I chose these as they had two full sets of stars and bars plus all the codes and nose art/ kill markings. All went well-ish with the application, the decals came off the backing paper in seconds and adhered well but not too much to reposition if needed. The good news ends there. They water seemed to soften the printing as well as the decals. They did not confirm to curves and you can't use MicroSol on them as they melt! The decals look to be printed on the same machine that Kits World use for thier 3D decals using the same media, it's almost a plastic? Anyway, kept fighting and got them on. Left then two days to dry then applied Tamiya X-22 clear acrylic using Tamiya X-20A thinner. This happened to some of the decals... Feck!!! Never seen this before with any Tamiya products so it MUST be the Kits World decals. Managed to flatten some by applying IPA and had to replace some from the remaining ones meant for the second aircraft. Do yourself a favour and NEVER buy Kits World decals So spares box and swearing got me here..phew! Artistic licence for the codes , WW was used for War Weary aircraft still in use as hacks or trainers.

What a great looking P-51! And that is a slick conversion, too.
