This is looking grand, H. I like the figure also. Gives an idea as to how small these things were.

Super bloody good primage indeed Ade . May I ask what your weapon of choice is for the surface preparation of the main pigmentationing ?

That primer is excellent, very smooth, what do you use?

The paint arrived this morning. I’ve managed to get a couple of thin layers laid down. Personally I think the colour is pretty well spot on, but what do I know?

I think it's a pretty good match too, Ade. How well did that AK spray for you?

I’ve just learnt that the SCC15 Olive Drab is wrong for a Mk.I! It should be a US Olive Drab.... Ar$e! Further research required before continuing.

Okay, research done... Staghounds were originally supplied in SCC2 brown as part of the lend/lease agreement, but an order was issued in April 1944 for British AFV to be painted SCC15... some were repainted, but there were a large number that weren’t by the time D-Day came around. There isn’t any clear record of what was or wasn’t repainted, so it is possible that it was SCC15.... phew, no repaint necessary.

I think it's a pretty good match too, Ade. How well did that AK spray for you? Jeff, it sprayed nicely. It’s much thicker than I was expecting and needed a good amount of thinner. As it appears similar to Tamiya I used X-20A to thin it and seems to have done the trick pretty well. I sprayed it at 18psi using my Neo with 0.3 needle. Towards the end of the session it was starting to thicken, so I would possibly add a flow improver/retarder for larger jobs.

That paint looks nice and smooth too, it looks dark in the photos, is it?

That paint looks nice and smooth too, it looks dark in the photos, is it? I personally I think it looks quite light in the flesh, the photos have darkened it a bit.
