Next project on the bench, (cos it's too frikin hot to paint & I need to get my finger out on this one), is a special edition "Armee Belge" AIFV milan version. This uses the excellent AFV club kit with suitable replacement parts to model this version. I may however replace the milan with a much better accurate armour one. This one is being built for the IPMS Belgium show in October so no pressure!

Cool choice Mr. S . No pressure you say, I want my BTR done for the same the Show . But if it stays as hot as it is, it's gonna be a close call. You remember what a scorcher it was last year ?

I hear you Paul, nice to have the sun but a bugger when you want to paint stuff and you are on a tight schedule! Oh yes I do indeed, however we did find that the beer kept us hydrated & cool!

Well the kit's fighting me at the moment, I had forgotten how iffy some of the earlier afv club kits could be and this is one of em! First off the wheels need to have the locating holes for the swinging arms made bigger as the wheels don't fit. Next the hull and upper parts are all out of shape and need serious clamping to get any semblance of a good or solid fit and the rear end sections are a flipping nightmare. The best however dear reader is left to the last. Those frikin tracks just will not glue! I used my normal slow setting glue clamped and left overnight & the buggers just would not glue. Worst still they basically melted right at the critical joint area! I HATE AFV CLUB TRACKS, they must be made out of the devils scrotum or something as they just wont flippin work for me!! So as I suspected a set of friulmodel metal jobbies are on their way as we speak. Here's a picture for discussion purposes only of the camo netting I will be attempting on this one.

The friuls arrived yesterday so today they are all fitted. Looking the biz as ever with these tracks & I've started adding some improvements to the hull. Should be much easier from now on.
