Thank you chaps. Richard Alexandra told me who to contact. I had an email from Sacha this morning asking what part I require. If it’s only one part (which it is), I only have to pay postage. Absolutely brilliant service from Kotare. I’m one happily bunny. Meanwhile, I’ve booked Toby into the vets to have his anal glands squeezed. He hates that 😈

I glued the main wing spar into place one side at a time to make sure the angle was right to pick up the location slots in the upper half of the wing. To do this I taped the upper wing half in place, which held the spar firmly in position while the glue dried. I then glued the other side of the spar. The joints are so well engineered, even a coat of paint will make the difference in tolerances. The rib detail on the wing is in the same position as the real airframe. Apparently, this was done intentionally to produce an undulation on the face surface. The elevator trimming tads are nicely done.

Now that's a subtle detail with the surface.

The culprit! As you can see, he really look’s really upset. I had some 1mm tube which was ideal for the machine gun barrels. It saved me drilling out the ones that came with the kit. I drilled a hole into the wing spar so the tube could pass through holding it in place. I’ll measure the kit barrels which will give me the point at where to set them back in the wing. Then all I have to do is glue them in place. The barrels will be set back to the correct position.

That is most excellent . Poor ole pooch Thank you, Paul. Poor old pooch my backside. He gets the best of everything. Anyways, I just got own back. I heard a jet roar approaching, looking up I saw the Red Arrows going over low on their approach to Goodwood Festival of Speed. I ran out the garden and trod on his paw. I apologised to him by sharing a Bonio with him. Lucky the wife was out, she moans at me for eating dog biscuits. I’ve cut the tubes to size and set them in the wing. I’m happy with the way they look. I used the moulds on the inside of the wing as a datum to measure from.

This looks like an excellent kit, you can see how much better the engineering is here than the Revell kit I'm building. That said the Revell kit was £25 so value I suppose.
Superb work so far, especially like the guns.

That looks like a great build, Joe. Also, Squadron Leader Pupper McPuppers does not care one bit about your rudder----or lack thereof..😂😂😂

Thank you, Tommy, Guy, Steve, Boots and, Ian. Much appreciated. Boots, don’t stop your Spitfire build. It’s coming along very nicely. Guy, he might look cute, but he’s a monster. He listens to a command, then decides whether to obey it or not! Ian, you’re right. As far as he’s concerned, and as Boots so kindly pointed out. It was a dog fight, and he won.

I’m still tapping bits together to get an idea of how it all fit’s before I eventually get on and glue it. The wing roots have been glued to the upper section of the wing. The wheels have flat spots on them, including the rear wheel. The undercarriage legs have a nice big flat location lug. Which when slid into the location hole, lines the legs up very nicely. i hollowed out the exhaust. Blooming dog
