The detail on the interior parts is amazing. And yes, I think I will need this kit. I just saw they released a new version which has a resin pilot figure.

Great info on those "true colors", always had my doubts about the exact shade of X for tank/airplane...

Interesting stuff indeed! My first job was in a specialist paint finishing company so I always have a wry smile when photos are used a evidence The main problem with using pics is that unless you have the original negative you don't know how which film type was used. Has the photo your using been exposed correctly? Has the photo aged, acid in the paper can change the hue. In monochrome red can look black, green can look grey.. the list goes on. The you add the different paint manufacturers, mix, thinning and what was underneath it. All of which can change the saturation and tone. If you look at he picture on a screen, is the gamma calibrated? If it's a copy what stock was used? If it's printed was the printer calibrated to the same balance as the original? It makes your head hurt... Even the owner of the air museum in Malta laughed as he told me about the German camo expert that stated to him the 109 wreck pulled from the ground was incorrect and must have been repainted Hence, I paint to what looks right to my eye... Others may have a different view but that's fine too, it's meant to be a fun hobby B)

After painting the inside of the undercarriage bays, I clipped the wings into place to see how they would look when finished. I noticed I missed the internal aluminium section where the undercarriage legs sit. The area where the wheels sit also need a bit of attention. As you can see, I held the wings together using some small craft pegs. I nicked this idea from a mate. They are just stiff enough to bring the the edges together without too much pressure. The propeller tips have been given a couple of coats of yellow. I think they might need another coat. The hub is ready for a coat of black. The prop shaft has a square end. Square peg in a round hole springs to mind. But when the hub is pushed onto the shaft, it’s going to feel just right. I can see the method in the madness here.

Great customer service from them to replace the parts so quickly. I don't think you'd see that from one or of the big companies.
Nice work too by the way.

I had painted the fuselage interior with Ammo Mig interior green, but thought I would try the other colour Kotare suggested, Supermarine interior green. This is a mix of Tamiya XF71(X2) + X28(X1). The Port half of the fuselage shows the Tamiya mix, the Starboard half shows the Ammo Mig colour. I think I’ll go with the Tamiya mix. I’ve painted the pipework aft of the radiator intake aluminium. When I took the masking tape off, some of the top coat come away with it. Which was tad annoying! There is fine mesh detail on the front of the radiator. This should show once it has been given a black wash. The wing tips, which I forgot, have been given a coat of Duck Egg Green. I also forgot the undercarriage bays, which have now been given a coat of aluminium.
