Wow! That is a superb finish. Thanks for posting the sequence of how you did that, too. Great information, there.

I am glad that I did not see this video before the start of this Miura build! And there are 10 more episodes to follow the complete build. I mean, this guy is unbelievable: what a talent & patience. This would have totally wrecked my "relaxing" build !

Paul, probably not, but I was forced to order some PE stuff which I managed to find here in Finland (last batch of Studio 27 Miura kit). I mean, those plastic parts in the Hasegawa kit look plain awful !

First off i would probably have lost most of the ends of my finger tips.........secondly,those doors would have never have come off like that in a million years and lastly if that scriber would have been in my hands the body would look like a baby baboon had been playing noughts and crosses on it!!

Nerves of steel needed there!
It's finishing the paint that scares me off cars so I'll follow your build fella, it's looking great so far!

So much for a relaxing build ! Adding those nice PE details when one has already painted the final colour might not be a good idea... But I will give it a try and see what happens. It started with the removal of material from the engine ventilation openings & front grille, which went pretty well, but for sure I will need to repair the paint (locally I hope!). Best would be of course to remove the body paint and start all over, but since this is a model for practising, I won't bother.

Aargh ! This is what happens when you cut the corners: the shit hit the fan ! Well, it was actually not a big surprise, never a good idea to glue something on the final paint. Luckily, this is not a show model and I had the "repair kit" at home ...

I am sure that you are more than capable of fixing that Kari . Just don't do it after too much of that repair liquid

After the last disaster, I needed a break from Miura. But since we have had a really cold weather here in Finland (down to -20 degC) and my paint area is in the old storage room where there has been down to +14 degC, I decided that I will wait for the warmer weather to finish body paint for GT40 (and also Miura). So, I took some relaxing PE work instead: the grilles on the bonnet. Otherwise it went well, but for some reason I forgot to follow the instructions and I glued the "ribs" in wrong order. The grille is not rectangular but slightly conical, so one has to build it in certain order which I missed and had to build it again. Before that I needed to measure the individual ribs since the next rib should be around 0,05 mm shorter than the previous one . Anyhow, you can see what a difference these PE parts make in comparison with the original plastic ones (25 ribs instead of 11)!
