Although I really do not have the motivation, I decided that I just have to start with this one. As I already mentioned before, this is my absolute favourite in regards of all automobiles. First ever supercar and so sexy, like Gina Lollobrigida ! Although I could not get the right version of the Hasegawa model (there are at least 6 of them), I chose to proceed with the body number #4846. It was the show car from 1971 Geneva Motor Show and it has been thoroughly restored, so there are plenty of nice pictures available. And best of all, the colour (Verde Metallizzato) is absolutely gorgeous.
I am going to do this one in a more relaxed way not worrying too much about the end result. It is a bit odd since there are no PE parts envolved. I actually managed to find one set of PE (Acu Stion), but it was not an impressing one and with a huge price tag, so I skipped that one. Hasegawa version Lamborghini Miura P400 SV `Detail Up Version` has some PE parts, but it was only available in Japan, so it would have also been expensive with the freight and customs.
First thing to do, was to modify the dashboard, because this particular car did not have the AC unit but a standard glove box. So I had to remove the ventilation disks on top of the dashboard and build a glove box from scratch. Not happy about the result but it will do.
Those instrument decals were a nightmare because they were recessed so it was very difficult to get them right (a lot of Micro Set). I have also been working with the chassis and interior parts plus putting several layers of primer on the body (since it is the wrong base colour = red). I have also understood that these car models have to have a perfect paint finish so one needs to have multiple layers so that one can sand & polish them properly.

Do not have the patience now, so I'm trying to finish this quickly !
Have been working with the interior: adding the seat belts (stole some material from Meng GT40), putting on some detail decals etc. Only missing the steering wheel... Colour seem to be a bit off, because I have not found out the exact codes for those used in the show car #4846.
Struggling also with the engine assembly and the rear suspension. Fit is not great and Hagegawa's instructions partially a bit vague. Anyhow, this will not be visible, because the engine hatch is fixed (integral part of the body), which is a shame.
ONCE AGAIN, HELP IS NEEDED!
I have now sprayed the body 5 times with thin layers, but the metallic colour is still very patchy & uneven. Do not exactly know why. The colour used: Streetblister Verde Metallizzato is ready diluted so that cannot be the problem. Should I try to polish this before the clear coat or what? Any suggestions?

Thats a shame about the paint karih, i`ve not used metallics for main body colours before so i don`t have any real sound advice.....i normally use a fine micro cloth between each pass of paint to keep the paint smooth and remove fine pigment ready for the next layer, to me it looks like it`s either a bit thin or it needs plenty of multiple passes to acheive the desired effect........the trouble with that is it can fill fine detail, i personally wouldn`t polish at this stage as i think it would simply shine the effect you already have there, also it`s another layer that can effect detail and one more layer to remove if you decided to strip it back, ianother good tip with metallics it to spray over a white or silver basecoat.............if this is purely a practice piece then it may well be a case of experimenting with various things/methods etc and if it doesn`t go to plan you can always strip it back and re-primer,not much help i know but metallics can give you a challenge ...........other than that all is looking rather splendid

I'm afraid I can't add any help at all to this one. But that what Boots has said, sounds spot on to me, don't give up yet Kari, add a little more and see how it goes.

Thanks all!
Nito74, thanks for the video, had missed that. A lot of valuable info there.
Thanks Boots for the tips! I got a tip from a fellow modeller here in Finland and he proposed to have a suitable green base colour before the actual metallic green. He also mentioned that a proper silver basecoat might do the trick. So I probably have to make some samples and see which one functions best.

Beautiful work and unfortunately I am very ignorant about metallic finishes. (Other than aluminum on planes). Sorry you are having problems with it but the interior and powerplant look amazing.

What clear coat do you use?
Can't answer your question but picking up tips is the name of the game

Ok, this is what I did:
- made colour samples on a styrene sheet (2 greens & silver) - sprayed 3 layers of the final colour on top of those sample colours => none was exactly the right colour but better than the original version - wet sand the body with grit 2000 paper - paint with Tamiya X-1 black (to get the light green a bit darker shade) - paint with Tamiya X-28 Park Green - polish the body with grit 6000 cloth - sprayed 3 layers of the final colour => the result is not 100% correct but far better than the original - will now clear coat (still unsure which clear to use, maybe A-Stand lacquer Varnish?) & polish it
Managed also to finish the front suspension and added two engine room support bars (1,0 mm brass tube) which will not be visible.
