After the last disaster, I needed a break from Miura. But since we have had a really cold weather here in Finland (down to -20 degC) and my paint area is in the old storage room where there has been down to +14 degC, I decided that I will wait for the warmer weather to finish body paint for GT40 (and also Miura). So, I took some relaxing PE work instead: the grilles on the bonnet. Otherwise it went well, but for some reason I forgot to follow the instructions and I glued the "ribs" in wrong order. The grille is not rectangular but slightly conical, so one has to build it in certain order which I missed and had to build it again. Before that I needed to measure the individual ribs since the next rib should be around 0,05 mm shorter than the previous one . Anyhow, you can see what a difference these PE parts make in comparison with the original plastic ones (25 ribs instead of 11)! Relaxing pe work, Karih you must be joking.😄

Thanks all for encouragement! And "relaxing": I understand the doubt, but in a way it is relaxing because you know what you are up against. One needs accuracy and lots of patience, while in comparison these new paints for the body (Streetblisters, Zero Paints etc.) are in the league of their own. It seems that whatever you try it fails and there is no clear answer what went wrong ! That is frustrating! Should have followed Boots' advice and get the colours from Mission Models...

OK, after the Christmas break, it is time to go back to the drawing board:
Managed to repair (somewhat decently) the damage with the door sills.
Added some decals and tail lights. Those black decals were a struggle (and actually they are of wrong shape for this particular Miura) but they turned out to be ok.
Finally I sprayed 4 layers of Tami X-22 to seal everything up. I went back to Tami because I got tired with these new "special" varnishes. I got some tips from Maestro Paul (eg. using ultra sonic to "mix" the varnish), so I will probably give it a new go with another kit. So, now I need to polish the varnish with products from Ultimate. I have not used them before, so we will see how it goes...

Thanks John, you are most kind ! I do not really know about these car kits: they are fairly simple assembly wise, but that shiny paint thing is really not my cup of tea!
