Well, this should be the epitome of battered. Going with the Amusing Hobby T-72AV (with interior) from the Syrian Civil War in 2016.

Tommy, Wouts---thanks, gents! Well, a nice cold day to get the T-72 started. I began with the lower hull and added the various bits on the bow, hull sides and rear. Very nice detail from Amusing Hobby. Just a couple of adjustments based on the photos from "Syrian Armor at War": 1) No de-miring log carried on the rear plate 2) No fuel drums--just the mount stubs 3) Most photos of the AV version show the bow Kontakt bricks either shot off or completely removed so I left those off.

Thanks, gents! Moving forward with the "battered" part of the build, I started on the wheels. The photos in the book showed significant amounts of battle damage and dry-rot on the tires of these Syrian -72s, so I spent all afternoon gouging the rubber parts of the wheels with the Dremel.

Thanks, Boots! A few of those tanks in the book were almost down to the rims. I bet that was a rough ride.😂😂

Yeah i bet it was A little trick i used to do after gouging was to coat the flat part of the wheel with a thin coat of contacta glue and then while it was still tacky i would put a bit of rigid tubing throught the hole and roll it backwards and forwards over some coarse sand paper.......gives quite a nice effect.
