So here’s my little shake and bake, mojo boosting Tamiya kit. £14 from my LHS, yes cheaper on EBay but I wanted it now 2 hours later I’m here...yep it looks like it’s been run over Welcome to those brave enough to tag along

Looking excellent and so fast too! Way to go man! And I don't blame you for picking it up at a Hobby Shop. I don't mind paying the extra to shop at one myself... like you said; I want it now!

Thanks Duke, yes, it’s important to support our LHS is we’re lucky enough to have one Build, apart from one or two details like the steering wheel and a gun or two, is done. Major assemblies primed. This is going very well and I’m loving it. I think my trip into 1/72 has helped my eye and steadied my hand, so there’s one thing to be grateful to Modelcollect for Parts dry fitted for now. This will be moving again tomorrow. ACWAE

That's a sharp looking beastie there Steve! Yeah, I agree; 1/72 scale does tend to sharpen my eyes and steady my hand too. You gotta love a great Modelcollect kit!

Thanks for the great comments fellas B) I used the Tamiya colour call out XF-62 Olive Drab for the base but it looks too dark to my eye for a WWII jeep. This looks closer to the almost black OD used in Korea. What do you reckon?

I would lighten up a shade or two, specially on the flat areas and upper sides You can see Tamiya paints are good though, very smooth indeed Steve

A little bit of Buff in the next mix will lighten it fella or even a light couple of passes with some X-71 over the top of what you have, if you go to my Studebaker truck build (page 7 or 8) you`ll see what it looks like......you can always darken it a tad if you feel it is to light.., just have an experiment
