Yeah I know it's really shyte when the glue flows like a river . Collateral damage happened too, I lost a sheet of 0.3mm card, and two road wheels were hit, the front engine deck got some too but only on the underside . Anyway today I did a little more fiddling , I made a new gun clamp . Just hope I don't lose, or break the bugger now . Needs a little work doing still, and I am now waiting for the correct sized square rod to arrive so I can fit it to the hull

Hi chaps, well the Italeri kit certainly has a few mistakes in it, time to correct the next one . The cupola up on top of the the casematt belongs to the Elephant . So there is no way around this one, it has to be removed. So off it came and was replaced with a flat square hatch. As you can see I had to cut a couple of circles before I got the right size to fill the hole After that, it was just a matter of looking at old grainy pictures in books to work out how the Ferdinand hatch looked . Still more to do up here, there needs to be a protective lip around the front of traversing sight. Then there are some rain water drains to add to the front of the casematt. The weld beads need remaking ..... Maybe I should have just made an Elephant and added the Zimmerit

Fine work indeed Paul, just shows that it doesn't take much to improve/convert an older kit and bring it up to date
