Hi gents. Currently I'm doing a lot and at the same time nothing modellingwise Couple of weeks ago I decided to take a queen from the shelves. It's a Tiger I which saw service in Africa during WWII Some of you might remember it. It's a Tiger I of the second Kompanie of the s.Pz.Abt. 501. The second company had it's own distinct features but most people will think of 1st comp. Tigers when one speaks about an African Tiger I. When I started the build in 2012 (!) there were no kits to depict a Tunisian Tiger I - other than an older inaccurate Tamiya kit or a very rare and expensive Dragon kit. So I decided to use Dragon kit 6600 (initial Tiger) as a base and add changes. The etchwork comes from Voyager models. Tiger 243 is quite famous together with 241 from a set of photos where they just arrived in Tunisia 1943 and were en route from Bizerte to Manouba. These two Tigers carried a lot of jerrycans on the turret roof and that appealed to me. Apparantly it hasn't been modelled often so in way an original subject to portray ^^. In the past David Byrden pointed out that I made some inaccuraries so I'm busy adjusting them. The crew got painted but was never very happy with it. So they are stripped of paint and I'm busy doing some surgery. Cheers

Hi gents, glad you like it, thanks for the compliments ^^ Guy: glad to see you back mate! Hi Paul, before I destroyed them they were Alpine figures (figure sitting on the left on the hull is Dragon). The loader is an early Alpine Miniatures figure but I swapped heads . Cheers

Good to read that some of you remember this kittycat I've been adjusting the pose of the commander a bit today and also started some surgery on the loader. Also the Eureka XXL tow cables arrived today and I assembled them and glued them in place. Initially I had glued the tow ends on the rear of the engine deck, this Tiger I is of a later version though, so the tow cable ends needed to be on the front of the hull roof. Cheers

Those figures really look good with this tank. BTW, what color option for the tank itself, are you going with?

Ian

LOL, Well I'm still working in the background but I'm in the middle of a house move, still need to do some painting, tiling, flooring and when all that's done I need to get me an Ikea desk for my ginormeous hobby room . Sadly with all this corona stuff I won't have my desk too soon I'm afraid. But rest assured, when I'm installed I'll be back in full force. I'm really eager to start again because +6 months without modelling sucks Cheers
