That is really awesome work with the stowage and truck bed. Best wishes, Ian Ian I trashcanned the Italeri. The wheels caused a problem I couldn't solve. The were not 100% in line, the Dragon tracks got damaged during my efforts...bye bye tracks. No worries, I'll use Friuls this time. Marco, tx brotha. Btw. the wheels are done, buildmarathon tomoz .

So sorry to hear that about the project. I overlooked the paragraph where you said you had to trash it. Dust off and back at it!

Jabbly and Ian thanks for the supportive comments on the past happenings. Currently I'm building like a mad man and I can tell you that the Dragon kit is -again- a typical Dragon kit with wrong parts, wrong numbering of parts, vague drawings and arrows pointing to I don't know the Land of Oz maybe ? It lead to removing parts and repositioning them. The Dragon boys seem to have made it their ferking signature ! With a lot of love and patience I tackeled the issues. Almost forgot to mention, so many small parts to go nuts on. Ok back to the bench and curse on !

The toughest Dragon kit I ever did was their Firefly Ic Hybrid kit which is likes sprues from six different Sherman kits thrown together in one box. The directions were horrible and I followed them to the letter and still got parts wrong. I had it posted on Armorama and a couple of the guys PM'ed me about the the blatant parts errors which I had to go back and fix. At least they PM'ed me so I didn't look like a total moron. Anyway, you will get a handle on it, I am sure.

Hello Pete, Dragon kits look great once they're built but they can be a nightmare for sure. Some of the parts weren't mentioned in the instruction sheets (dashboard...). Anyways, I battled on this week and most of the components are built now, the woodbed is for next week. This weekend will contain 90% of airbrushing frenzy.

The instructions are one of the reasons I stopped buying Dragon kits. Two steps later a magic piece appears in the build that’s not mentioned anywhere. Oh and their habit of we’re going to doing a variant by adding some sprues to the box, which we may label with the same letter as an existing sprue just to keep you on your toes, and so you get your modelling monies worth the parts won’t actually quite fit together.

Their woodbed may look nice once ferked together, it never existed ! I couldn't not find one single RSO photo showing a woodbed that looks like theirs. I've decided not to build an RSO as seen in Albania again as I have no decals for these German units. Issue solved...I found a great wartime reference photo showing an RSO of 19. Volksgrenadier Division in France near the German border. It's dark yellow with a green in the field added camouflage. This means I can't use my two British soldiers (Summer uniforms don't match with Fall/Winter conditions). I have two GI's wearing trenchcoats so they'll fit in the story. This reference photo shows an RSO with beautiful snowshoes style Eastern front in France during fall/winter, with a Willys ( won't add that one). My RSO has battledamage, the kit didn't provide a cover so it's going to be a woodbed stuffed with cans, drums and 2cm Flak items.

Oh bloody hell Guy , this build is certainly giving your patience a good run for it's money. This new idea sounds good though, and I am sure you'll master it now .

Paul, Pete, thank you. This kit has been giving me hell times 10 but I think it looks ok now as I used a pretty clear wartime reference photo. There are different styles of racks for the snowtracks but Dragon's type I just couldn't find nowhere on the internet. I still have to scratch a couple of small details. The dark yellow base and green camo are on. The bed will be painted tomorrow. I hope that the rusty snowshoes will work well combineren with the green.
