Thanks guys! I did some more sanding work on the KC-97L and I think it is ready for the last primer coat. I got the panel lines along the seams, which had been sanded off during filling, rescribed and I also did a dry fit of the props and jet pods. The wing root fit into the fuselage was excellent and the only thing needed was some caulking of some hairline gaps at the wing root with Microscale Krystal Kleer. Stay tuned!

I promised Marco I would get some paint going on the KC-97L so figured it was time to get moving.

I have started off with all the different colored areas that will be masked off before the Aluminum application. The undersides of most of these later -97s were painted in ADC Gray and I had some Model Master FS16473 left over from Carl's F-101 project so I sprayed that on the undersides. Also, photos indicated alot of these -97s had an Aircraft Gray section on the vertical stabilizer ahead of the rudder so I sprayed that as well to be masked off later. Photos also showed alot of the ANG -97s had a black rectangle painted under the forward fuselage so I added that with Model Master Flat Black Enamel. The Texas ANG -97s have a white nose, white radome and white spine radome so I painted all those sections with Model Master White as well. I will let all this cure up and then and start masking in the next few days.

I do have a lot! I just acquired a large collection of paints from the family of a deceased member of IPMS; there were quite a lot of bottles of aluminum in those boxes.
