Thanks, Boots! I was finally able to get one across the finish line and the KC-97L is done. After the decals, I put the rest of the sub-assemblies on, namely the props, jet pods and refueling boom. I sealed the ADC Grey undersides with a coat of Vallejo Matt Varnish and I gave the Aluminum topsides a coat of Vallejo Gloss Varnish. I drilled holes into the fuselage and installed metal posts for the rigging antennae. I ran two lines on the fuselage topsides using stretch sprue and anchored them to the tail with CA glue. The -97Ls also had two antennae lines on the belly running parallel to the fuselage of asymmetrical length and height and I used stretched sprue there as well. I then added nav lights to the wing tips. The plane depicted is a KC-97L from the Texas Air National Guard of the 181st Aerial Refueling Squadron based out of NAS Dallas in the 70's. This was a fun build and I learned alot about NMF finishes using Vallejo Aluminum and I think this will be the way to go for me regarding future aluminum finishes.
