Thank you guys! I fiddled on and practically finished the textures of the ammo bandoleer, maybe it needs just a tad more highlights. Next is to paint a part of the stencil on the half pouch and then I can paint the suspenders, the musette bag etc... Enjoying myself a lot with this bust but now I go to a big family bbq. Now where's the booze? ??

Replicating fabric is new to me Paul but I kept trying...I'm sure it can and will be done better by other figure painters but I'm happy with it. I'm seriously fighting my perfectionism which can be a mojo killer.

I can’t see how it could be done better, mate. Maybe just more efficiently, but not better.

Tommy you're absolutely right, I think it can be possible to get to this result faster by skipping a step (or two). I want to figure this out when I paint the musette bag. I'll add the texture in step 1 already. Let's see if that works. Thanks fella!

I agree with Tommy, it’s hard to see how this could be improved AG, the variation in colour and texture is amazing You’re right about the perfectionism too, I think it’s my greatest foe. I think the worst thing about the internet is that you can see so much talent on show just before looking at your own work!

Steve, I have to admit that I'm checking the internet too and then I say to myself this is something that others can achieve so why shouldn't I? Perfectionism creates limits, it sounds un logic but it's true. I've been working on my own perfectionism and I ripped it out with the root which was going back many years (childhood). Now I enjoy my hobby a lot more, I have confidence at what I do and the final results look better, more daring and without limits. Boots, you really should do a bust. Thanks chaps!

Awesome! Better than that only if you use a correct scale real fabric!

Agreed…. I watch modelling videos on YouTube and am astounded at some of the level of detail… especially the Japanese channels. what really bugs me is everything they do looks bigger than what I have sat on bench in front of me 🧐 Seriously tho Guy, your work is outstanding and inspirational 😁

Thanks good chaps, you're too kind! I've been painting along today and I think with another two hours session it can be done. The musette bag paint coats have to dry now and with just a bit more fiddly diddly micro paint action in places I can call it done. The helmet will be glued on and further finished, not much, a highlight, a shadow... The greens look really green but it must be the light at that time of the day causing this. The suspenders received their 'texture' and I'm pretty pleased with their look.
