Thanks guys, today I worked on the tracks using VMS blackening solution which always works a treat. I did however have to paint every track pin as these are resin. Tedious but necessary so a metallic grey mix was carefully added to each one. With further weathering the tracks will look the business on the model later.
Time for some paint and I've used a Mike Starmer mix for the elusive SSC15 colour that this tank would have been painted in. The mix is 5 parts XF81, 1 part XF58 & 1 part XF71. The pictures below have not been colour corrected just cropped. I'm happy with the base colour which looks slightly more green than olive drab, which it was supposed to be a British version of. I'm not going to get too wrapped up on the colour as obviously everyone's perception of colour is different and it's a scale model not the real thing. I'll next add my usual method of highlights using progressively lighter tones but I need to experiment with flesh, buff, yellow & sand to see which one works the best.
