Coming along nicely, PH. For what it's worth, I like the first set of pics better. The second one's look washed out to me.

Decided to use masking fluid for the first coat of SLA Blue. Given my current lack of consistent bench time its probably the safest option for a still workable chipping medium. While that is sorted I've given some more thoughts to the displaying of this one. Going for a half submerged wreck... this way I only need to really worry about the running gear on the dry side. However, it is going to need a lot more "Water" than I've dealt with to date. Here's the basic idea; pic upload edit . Currently plan to include general detrius and maybe even some effluent type outflow into the main body of water... needs to be a challenge if I'm to improve

Thanks Steve. As a"mojo-rehab" build I need it to be relatively easy, whilst at the same time creating some sort of challenege for myself. Anyhoo- its comming together- little steps Two stepsforward, one step sideways is still forward!!!

I like this idea . Maybe you could start off with plaster to save the huge amount of water .

Hell P, why didn't I think of that😕 ...as the plan is for a body of standing water it'll be brackish and I might get away there with using just plaster and multiple gloss coats. Hmmmmmmm.... food for thought me thinks.

That looks a good concept there Paul...........once the plaster is set you can colour and then use the gloss coats

First coat of SLA Blue. A mix of Model Color Dark blue-gray, model air Basalt gray and white, with some flow improver and thinner. Left to dry for an hour and then the masked areas rubbed back, and left with this: top free photo hosting sitesSome filters next....before another blue-gray coat sponged on.

Cheers Pete. Unfortunately my phone camera really doesn't capture the full contrast between colours, giving that washed out look.

Looking darned fine from here Paul . If you do use plaster then I would colour it first, something dark but not black. Then I would get some enamel based gloss or matte on there to seal it, and then go for acrylic glosses tainted with browns for the watery effect. I haven't tried this , but this is the way I'd go.

Thank you AG. messing around with the picture settings to geta more accurate idea of colour. The background should be blue not gray... Heres a better idea of how it all looks: . TTFN.
