It's a good bit of kit Tommy, and works well. But cost around £90. The wheels are ready for painting. I hope to get them done over the weekend.

Thank you Paul. As you know, quality tools are worth it. I still used one of Granddad's tools until I retired.

Thank you Ian I've given the tyres a coat of paint. I'll have to paint the centre sections of the wheels after they have been removed from the runner as there is a seam line that needs cleaning off. I also tried spraying a black wash on the lower hull to get a more even finer coat to see how that works out. I find when I use a brush, it goes on unevenly and takes longer to clean off.

Nice Joe . I have never tried spraying a wash, so I'm interested as to how this pans out

Nice Joe . I have never tried spraying a wash, so I'm interested as to how this pans out Thank you Paul. It sprayed on ok, but think I need to get the consistency right. I used Flory weathering wash straight out of the bottle. I found this needs to be a bit thicker, so my next attempt with be with artists gouache, which I can dilute with water. If it works, I'll be treating the wheels the same way before I attach them.

Thanks chaps. I've cleaned it up which was easy. I didn't have any of the big build ups like I did when I used a brush. I hadn't varnished any of it first, so it was applied on the top coat without sealing it. I used Ammo Mig, which has a slight sheen. I'm happy with the result, and will definitely do it again when it comes time to do the wheels.

How did you cleaned the excess? Looks amazing! Good question, I too would like a tad more info on that Sorry for late reply gents. I've been a busy boy today. I used moist cotton buds and kitchen roll. Not too wet, or it removes too much of the wash. I gently rubbed it until I got the desired effect. To get in the small spaces, I used Tamiya buds.
