With two weeks spring holidays coming up I thought I would try my hand at a bird. After humming and ahhing in the shop I decided on this as my test piece. Nice and cheap so leaving me with lots of pennies to buy another if the inkling takes me. Wish me luck, because not done a plane since I was a kid

I'm here and I think that now, our friend Dukemaddog has his nemesis How fast do you build your models mate! And, like Mark, with super quality!

Nice one Tommy. I think this kit is 1973 vintage. I have the Rufe released the same year. Cracking little model..

Very nice, Tommy, and looking forward to it. Tamiya finally released the light gray-green color for those early A6Ms. I think it is XF-76.

Thanks guys. PorcoRosso it is from 1973
Ian, it is XF76. Will get it on Monday.
By the way, felt the earthquake tonight. It was quite a jolt, but no problems.

Finished the cockpit just with normal green. Not sure a bottle of cockpit green was worth the investment. Anyway, wings are on and I’ve used gel like CA to fill in the gaps. Not sure it’s my mistake or a kit problem. Here’s the state of play so far. Going shopping for the paints tomorrow.

Very fine looking bird fella, even the best builders with the best kits need a bit of CA so you’re right on track

Sharp looking build, Tommy! No worries on the CA. Sometimes we need CA gel to show these things who's boss.😂

Gone together really nicely Tommy. Probably not you, more likely to be the kit as the moulds are 48 years old now!

Thanks again everyone. Smoothing down now and nearly there. Just worried about destroying the panel lines.
