I figure that I should start one of these. I'm hoping for a pretty busy build year this year...so let's see where this goes. We'll begin with the Wildcat, a what-if SPG using the M4a1 chassis. It's an open-topped design, mounting the US M1 76mm gun. The M19 (76mm) Wildcat was designed as a tracked mobile antitank gun. It had light armor, no coaxial MG, and no hull MG. Crews adopted adding add-on armor and medium and/or heavy MGs. The Wildcats were often pressed in to overwatch roles for advances or guarding positions for counterattacks. Towards the end of the war, Wildcats were being replaced my M20 Longhorns, though some would soldier on in Korea, American National Guard and Reserve Units, and others were exported to friendly nations. This Wildcat was the third and final vehicle commanded by Sgt. Chester "Chesty" Rockwell, his gunner Sgt. Lawrence "Buddy" Dykstra, loader Pvt. Peter "the Kid" Maxwell, and driver Cpl. Lyle Dinkins.

Trumpeter's E-10 build. Mostly OOB for a Group Build for another web site. It wasn't a bad build but I wasn't awesomely overjoyed with it either. It seemed, cheap and half-way engineered at time. I should be posting more builds soon. I've got a number of builds ongoing and will post them once they get done.

Thanks.
I had posted the build pics over in the Tracked What-if/Prototype Section but...the thread isn't there. The two pics above were copied from the upload list. I'll try to post it again tomorrow.

I built Academy's M3a1 Stuart for a campaign over on Aeroscale...yeah the plane site. They had a Mediterranean Theater of Operations Campaign and were accepting tracked and floaty things as well. I'll spare you the build pictures.
The build was meh. I've really come to think that Academy has been taking some odd shortcuts with what could be some really nice kits. It comes with a basic interior and no engine. You can build it as the US Army's "Tiger", which was captured by the Germans in Tunisia 1942, two US Marines Stuarts in Bouganville 1943, and two unidentified Soviet Stuarts 1942 and 1943. It had it's share of fit issues, decals were out of register as well as wrong, and the rubber tracks were too tight and would not hold. It has indie links too but I really was ready to be done with it so I used a Tamiya set for now. The fuel drums were not very well done. I plan on reworking the kit later (indie links, new decals, etc.). I'll try to make this...maybe next year. I swear Dragon makes a figure set that would work well as the looky-loos.

Despite the issues you had, she still looks good Alex . A fine job indeed fella. I built the same kit many years ago, I dropped the turret and added a .50 and .30 cal in place. This was the recce version in NWE used by the Brits.
