Paul and Ian, thank you chaps. I'm working my way through the 21 parts that the raised detail has to be removed from. I'm using a sanding block with self adhesive wet & dry strips. Not all the details have to be removed, so I'm using the Quinta instructions as a guide.

Thank you gentlemen. They are nice tools Paul. All the gear and no idea springs to mind After removing the surface details, I mounted the cockpit parts on a board ready for a coat of primer.

She's ready for primer as I have the sub-assemblies for the plane built and ready to go. Unfortunately, intake covers will be needed as there are seams in there that are still visible and I was not happy with how the trunks will look. The burner cans are very detailed but there is a slight issue with the petals ( Joe, cautionary warning here if you have not built the cans yet). Much like the problem that plagues the Hasegawa F-14B/Ds with the F-110 engines, the petals are too wide so when you go to put the last one in, there is not room. So a few millimeters have to be shaved off the petals to reduce the overall diameter so they fit in the can. Primer to follow.

Looking all rather good Ian. Thank you for the heads-up. I've not started that stage yet. I'll pay close attention when I start fitting those parts together.

Don’t know about you, but these tiny bits are giving me a headache.
I so much admire your patience and work, both of you.

Thanks, Tommy. Even the small assemblies are not bad with this kit because it is so well engineered.

Thank you gentlemen. I had a cunning plan. I sprayed the instrument panels so I could take them with me to Cornwall on Friday. I made a right pigs ear of the top coat, so I will need to sort that out before I can carry on. The idea was that I could apply the 3D decals whilst I was away. Well, that's not going to happen. It's the first time I can remember that I haven't got a model with me to make. So I've had to make do with a Lego Aston Martin I've not started. In the meantime, just the one photo.

Joe, nice paint work on the burner array. Well, I got some Mission Models Light Gull Grey sprayed on the F-4. However, I noticed there is a sink mark on the left side leading edge of the vertical stab that I missed under primer so I need to get that addressed.
