Thank you chaps. Please accept my apologies for once again slacking. This would be a fairly static post if it were not for Ian. Thanks to Ian (much appreciated) for giving me the heads-up about the very tight fit of the petals into the can. As my old Nan would have said, they were as tight as a ducks arse! And that's watertight! After cutting the petals off the runner, I removed the primer from the mating surface. After a bit of pushing, I managed to get all the six petals fitted without having to shave anything off of them. I've only dry fitted them so I can take them apart for painting. I'll just make sure to remove any paint which will prevent me from putting them together again.

Thank you Ian. I dry fitted the other can, and taped the fuselage together to see how they look when fitted. They have the typical Tamiya tooling pins to make them idiot proof, so they popped into place nicely.

Thank you Paul and, Pete.
The colours are a mixture of Dark Grey primer, top coat Light Gull Grey, lower surface White, plus a bit of metallic.

Joe, excellent work, sir! So many color variations around the burner array on F-4s, which makes it fun to paint.

Thank you Duke, Ian and, Tommy. Muchly appreciated. I'm working a bit out of sequence by assembling the inboard wing pylons. I should really be sorting out the cockpit. But I need to concentrate on that as I've never used Quinta Studio decals before. I want to do that with no distractions, and that's not happening at the moment. The pylons have already had a coat of primer. I'd done them while using up some primer I had left in my airbrush rather than waste it. I glued the two halves together. The missile rails have been left unglued to make painting easier. I measured the location pins on the pylon mountings with a vernier. This was so I could open up the pilot hole in the lower wing to get a nice snug fit, as I didn't want the fit to be slack as a Yak.
