Evening / Morning All So here's my 1st ever attempt at 1/35 scale figures. They are resin figures purchased from one of the Chinese trading platforms. It was challenging at times, but so far so good. Still a bit of work left to do on the boots, belt and accessories. I wil probably revisit the the skin tones too. The other thing that's come up is I really need better light sources for taking pics. The colour and tonal contrast isn't really picked up well in the pics. I have been using the Vallejo German unform set and a mix of oils and acrylics for the skin. Had a bit of an accident and knocked them over and two of the brushes broke off from the hand. They're now safely tucked away and will be put back on when the painting is finished. Enough waffle, here's the pics. Cheers Mark

First time eh? very good effort for a first time. I can't do figures Yes, first time at 1/35. I have done a 1/16, 200mm and a 1/10 bust. I found them a lot easier than 1/35 as it's a lot easier to blend / create contrast. Certainly has been challenging, but learning as I go. I would recommend the planetfigure forum, it has some great step by steps and some awesome figure painters work. www.planetfigure.com/

Yeah, looking good. Did you do the old spraying dark from the bottom and light from the top? The last pair of trousers are great. Uncle night shift did a figure in black panzer gear, if you can find that.

Uncle night shift did a figure in black panzer gear, if you can find that. Yes, i've seen the nightshift video and a fine job he does. The base coat was Alclad black microfiller primer applied by airbrush. All of the coats have been brush applied using my trusty W&N 7 Series set. The last pair of trousers are my favourite too. The moulding of the figure couldn't nave been better for some great contrast. With a bit of music on in the background it has been a very therapeutic weekend after a very busy week working in lockdown.

Another suggestion would be some camouflage trousers as bit of variety. The spring pattern wasn’t so difficult.
Never tried the autumn one though, cos never had the colours.

That's on for the next build Tommygun. The classic Tamyia 88mm flak in tank hunter mode in a late war setting, with a full crew in the M44 camo scheme.

Awesome, thanks for the reference. I do have a book with SBS camo how to's, but it doesn't compare to watching it on YT.

Evening, morning all Well the drudgery of lockdown continues, but thankfully the workload has decreased over the last couple of days which has meant a bt more modelling time As long as i've got my phone by my side that's technically working right??? So over the last couple of days I've been working on the figure with the big jacket. My first thougt was to do a camo pattern, but then I thought no, it has to be a winter jacket. A year or so ago I bought the Andea figures white paint set. I'd never used it, so challenge was accepted. I also did the leather belt and gun holster. Unfortunately as I was working on the jacket I accidently flicked the back of the head with the bristles, so he now has a case of vitiligo!! Some photos are below, but they're not the best as the lighting in my model room creates a yellow tinge. Anyway enough talk. Next up I did the leather belt and holster on the commander figure. It gave me a good chance to use my new super-dooper new magnifying headset. And what a difference it makes. It made a difficult job much much easier. Here's the pics. Happy with progress so far, just hair, boots and gloves to go. It's amazing how painting small figures can take so long. Cheers Mark
