Thanks Pete, Ian, Paul, Boots, Jeff, Robert and, Marco Pete, the barrel even has rifling detail! Ian, we certainly do get spoiled with Tamiya kits. Following the advice from a couple of armour modellers more accomplished than me, I glued the tracks in sections, then bent them to shape before the glue fully set. This worked out spot on. After painting, I'll only have 2 sections each side to attach. Thank you chaps.

The tracks look great, Joe, and also a great "how-to" on applying them.

Great bit of work, hopefully no shrinkage problems which you can get at 1/48.

Thank you Tommy, Ian and, Jeff.
Tommy, I've never heard of the shrinkage problem. What is it?

Joe the shrinkage can hit all plastic tracks, depends on the glue you use and it's drying time before taking the breakdowns apart. I've had it happen too often in the past, glues like Tamiya extra thin etc always caused it. The glue is too aggressive, it melts the plastic too much which pulls the parts together and causes the shrink. If I use plastic links, or link and length I always go for Revell Contacta Professional. This glue just sets in place and doesn't pull the parts together.

Thank you Paul. I never knew that. I used Tamiya extra thin as well! Fingers crossed I get away with it. I'll use Revell glue on the tracks from now on.
Thank you also Tommy for bringing the subject up. Much appreciated to you both.

Must admit i avoid TETC for that very reason.....i tend to go Revell Contacta for plastic as well and C/A for bandies.........if that fails i`ll staple the ferkers!!

I knew there was an issue with super thin CA glue causing that because it's so hot. I will keep that in mind about the solvent based ones, too.

Looks like the modelling Gods were on my side. I've checked the fit after the primer had dried, and there doesn't appear to be any shrinkage. I've only got two joints to glue together, I will use Revell glue as advised by Paul and, Boots. Thanks again chaps for the tip. Well done Tommy for bring it to light in the first place.
