Hi chaps, as everything else is busy curing, I decided to drop a quicky on you . Here we have the Tamiya 1/48 scale T55. This is going to be OOB, which is a new one for me . This will also be my first real T55 build, I know some of you thinking "what? he's built loads of 'em". Yes I have a few 55's under my belt, but they have all been conversions of some sort . Here's the list for those that don't know : Tiran 5 Tiran Samovar Tiran D30 Lebanese army Enigma T-55 Hellcat "Frankenstein crossover" Bosnian army T-55 with Bofors 40mm AA gun Anyway here's the pics, I started at roughly 19:00 this evening . The upper hull is only dry fit, that'll make priming and track painting easier. I have only one gripe about this kit, you only get decals for one vehicle . I'll see if I can come up with something different

Brilliant and fast start so far Paul! As for the decals, make sure a conversion isn't needed to use them!!

It's in my stash and looks great so it'll be stunning in your hands buddy. Star Decals have some nice options for markings

Cheers Tommy . I know I said this would be out of the box, but hey there is something to add even to a Tamiya kit The fuel lines on the 55 are a prominent feature, so I couldn't ignore the fact that they were missing. A bit of 0.4mm brass wire sorted them out, their not perfect, but close enough

Was wondering if you were gonna bother with em! Perfectly fine in this scale I'd say.

Here's a tad more . The kit is also missing the drivers vision block water washer lines and tank, the coax MG and worst of all, the nuclear blast detectors . The blast detectors are going to be tricky to make, I might not bother with them but we'll see later .

Wow, I never knew about half of these extras on a T-55. I've never taken the time to add any fuel lines to any of my 1/72 scale models so I never really knew about them.
Keep it coming Paul!
